Hi all,
Not been on for a while but hope someone can offer some advice.
We completed our Iva in July 2015 and was off credit file July 2016. We have been doing really well since, slowly but surely rebuilding our credit history and now have excellent credit files.
We are now wanting to move house and port our existing mortgage and use equity to make a new purchase. We are and have been with Santander for 12years, never defaulted or missed payments, they were obviously made aware of the Iva but as it's no longer on our credit files we didn't see an issue. Santander however are refusing our request to port the mortgage as their internal system still has our Iva on record. Can they discriminate like this? We have lost the house we wanted because of this.
Any advice gratefully received.
I am afraid that they are free to make their own lending criteria, within the law. I would suggest, as Luluj suggested, a chat with Ryan and / or Shaun.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
Sadly as you have found some Lenders are never willing to lend after an IVA. There are some HIgh Street Lenders who would be willing to lend at this time subject to affordability but obviously that means that you couldn't port your existing deal.
Feel free to contact us.
