Just going through my son's income and expenditure sheet and it got me thinking. Luckily I haven't had to worry about my spending but I had a quick glance at my credit card bill and noticed a big difference. There are two of us here and we spend more, (quite a bit more,) than he does with an IVA. It got me thinking. How much do you need to get by? With him there are two adults and two children, 9 & 5. They have an amount down for housekeeping as £500/month. Is that high, low or about average? Separate amount for clothes, so they are not included.
I think that is resonable,my wife and I had our shopping at 300 a month and I think that was a tad low
With two adults and two children I would say 500 a month is not excessive
Today 1st of December 2016 the vultures finally flew away
We had ( when we were a "we" ) just over £400 for the two of us and a then school starting toddler. This was a few years ago now, but we managed quite well on it. To be honest, we had more towards the shopping in the IVA than before it !!!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.

The guideline figure for 2 adults and 2 children is £526 for food toiletries and cleaning. Clothing is another £93 and there is £50 allowed for medical, dental and optical.

It seems to me there is some flexibility depending on the 'make up' of your family and your family needs - which is actually how it should be as each iva is individual in its set up.
