Well my last IVA payment has gone out today ... been a long slog plus an extended 12 months but we've done it !!!

I did ask before last year , about when it comes to a close but lost my logging details and couldn't get back on here .. firstly thanks to the replies as couldn't thank you at the time ..

But need to ask again now lol ...
what happens now ???? And how we go about building our CR back up ?

We did manage to get car finance during the iva , obviously at a higher premium and with the permission of our IVA providing it would not interfere with monthly payments ... that was on a 3 yr term ..one yr left on that ...

So car finance can be done whilst in an iva , we were desperate as need 2 cars for work ..
Obviously not poss for everyone but it can be done ..
so hopefully this car finance arrangement will put us in good stead with CR but not sure :-/

So will we now get a certificate from CF to say it's now complete ?
And again what means to go about building our CR ..
Finally thanks very much for replies to questions I have put forward on here ..

Hi. Credit clean up, in a nutshell is mentioned here:

http://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva-d ... dit-record

Your IP will issue the completion certificate in due course. CF haven't been too bad at this, so it shouldn't be too long, barring any mishaps.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Yes it is , a huge weight lifted off our shoulders and thinking back over the last six years how we've managed and has been a struggle and has made us appreciate more of what we have and how to spend wisely !!!

As said , was very surprised that we did manage to get another vehicle with finance whilst in the iva , that was a life saver in itself , was at a higher premium and Obviously that's not a choice we can all do but it can be done ... as see there's lots of queries about needing a new car on here ... CF were very helpful, was a lot of phone calls and emails to and from the car finance company and CF to make sure all was ok and as long as the payments didn't affect the iva monthly payments all was fine . Hopefully this will also give us green ticks :-/

Can I ask ...
so when we receive our completion certificate, do we then and only then go about requesting credit reports from the 3 majors to see things have been lifted

Talking to my wife about how we go about re building , I see there's lots of mention of obtaining a c card , and just use for fuel etc and pay off each month ... we really do t want another C card . These are what got us into trouble in the first place so there the last things on our mind but saying that , we see where we went wrong !
But if we can do without then we will but I guess they are the building blocks .

It is only just a letter unfortunately - not a certificate!

It can take a while for said letter to come out once that happens then you will come off the Insolvency Register within three months.

Six years from the start of the IVA it will drop off the credit record and a credit card is a good idea - just use it once a month and pay it off straight away and it will give you a green tick each time.

First of all well done on completion, enjoy a debt free future.
Could I ask a couple of questions please, I am with CF and have 3 payments left on the 12 month extension:-
How long did they contact you before end, if so when?
Did you have final review?
Do they tell you to cancel standing order?
Thanks in advance.

Communication is not a strong point with CF -- in your shoes I would be pestering them and nudging them along.

Yes as foggy has said , Comms are not there strong point plus , November we got a letter ask for expenses review , even though we were in our 12 month ext and the payments were fixed with no more rises , a little confusing but was an automated standard procedure mail ...
Even earlier last year one of the reps called , asking about expenses forms not been done , then called back to apologise as didn't realise we were in our ext year !!!

So a case of left hand right hand do t know what there doing comes to mind .. we contacted them just before Xmas to say last payment was yesterday and also contacted them yesterday by email ..my wife was dealing with this and has asked ref to now cancelling db etc ..

Again though You need to do the chasing if you want immediate answers
Hope this helps

My last payment to credit Fix went out on 19th Nov 2016 and I received CC 12 days later.

I had to do a bit of chasing with CF coz at month 54 I hadn't heard from them about Equity release process. Didn't start that process til month 57.

Good luck getting yours through quickly
