Hi
I had an IVA with Melanie Giles and IVA Advice Bureau that was fully settled and finished back in 2013. I'm just in the middle of a successful re-mortgage and the mortgage company's solicitors have written to me to say that there is still a restriction on my property in the name of Melanie Giles and the IVA Advice Bureau - but am I right in thinking that she has stopped trading? I need it removing ASAP - can anyone help please, I don't want to lose my new mortgage.

Hi,

She is still trading as Foggy says - this is probably an oversight and if you contact her at the PJG website I am sure they will be able to help.

Is there anywhere you can check to see if a charge has been lifted off your own property once your IVA has been completed ?

You can check your title at HM Land Registry's website.

Cheers. Should the charge be lifted automatically once completion Certificate is sent out?

The charge is usually lifted at the same time the certificate is issued but is sometimes overlooked or simply not acted upon at Land Registry.
