You should not need to extend on a property that is not yours. If you were renting then it wouldn't be extended anyway.

It doesn't make any difference. The property is not in your name. They cannot make you remortgage or take out a secured loan or extend the IVA.

Perhaps at the beginning they were not sure whether you had an interest in the property so got the RX5 to cover their bases. Now they have investigated and satisfied themselves that the property is in your partners name and you have no interest in it. Congratulations!
