Well I have had my certificate of completion on the 2nd of November. MY IVA has been over after 6 years. I signed up to a service to protect my credit and have 24 hr access to my credit report. As such I noticed that 7 of the debts on there recorded as having defaults were creditors on my IVA. I have contacted one company since who own 5 of the debts and they have asked me to send the certificate of completion to them. I scanned and emailed it to this company and to the second one which had one debt on my report. The second email has since bounced back so I shall ring them again tomorrow to find out what is what. I know both companies claim that they will update the records but unlike all my other debts which have dropped off these will still be sitting there instead of coming off my report. Is it my job to be doing this or should Payplan my previous IVA company be the ones to be updating all my creditors?? I am not sure if I am out of place to ask them to pass the paper work on and ensure my credit report is up to date or now that I have my certificate, am I on my own to sort this out?
IVA free since June 2013 now wanting my life back!
I was dreading completing this task but so far with the help of the forum I've found it fairly painless. Had a letter this week from one creditor (3 are defaulting me) that they will update their records within 28 days. So two to go for me.
All the best and hopefully it'll be sorted very soon.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
Helping you clear up your credit file is not part of your IPs duties but we recognise that it is an area that causes many people concern as they often do not know where to start.
We have recently started to include a guide to clearing up your credit file in all our IVA completion letters.

I know my iva will be on my c/file for 6 year from the start date of the iva.
But should I make sure the default date are right, now as I have my cc after doing a f&f last year.
IVA now over with and it was worth it.
