I need to replace my boiler this month. Any advice ?

Hi I have a current IVA and pay £255 per month , On Saturday I had a boiler engineer visit my home to repait boiler , he said it is beyond repair and needs replacing , my sammlest quote with discount is £1400 , will my company allow me to miss this months payment , I need to speak to my secured loans /mortage and request the same as I need to pay for the new boiler this month..any advice

I would speak to your IVA company, i had similar happen to me right in the middle of my IVA term, and they let me have a 3 month payment holiday! Obviously this added 3 months on to the end of my 5 year term, but really helped me out at the time. Its worth speaking to them.

...get a couple more quotes as well.

If getting a new boiler, they are all about the same in terms of energy efficiency, so try and get one with a 5-7 year warranty (just go with the cheapest big-name make).

Vaillant Boilers are guaranteed for up to 7-Years, Glow-Worm and Worcester Bosch: 5-Years for example.

At least then you have peace of mind until well-after your IVA.
My opinions are just that: Based on my experience and being a self-employed IVA customer.
