If as a discharge BR your currently have a bank account, which the OR/bank has allowed you to remain open, for your income, bills etc to be paid into.

Then after 2-4 years after being discharged, and you want to open another bank account, a basic one, with the other banks, then is there more change of getting accepted for them?

I mean the ones besides barclays...
ie-,
-Natwest,
-Llyds,
-Santander,
-Rbs,
-natiowide?

and Does it matter if you have had a past debt, or past current account with that particular bank, for applying for a new basic bank account there (2-3 years after discharge) ?

(as you have passed some years by, and no longer have the debt)

as it has been 2-3 or even 4 years after Discharge?

and when applying into a branch with a person doing the application,
does their credit check on your credit files, automatically show them that you are a past bankrupt ? ie, does it flag up automatically?

Although the OR may not have any interest in the account, it is the banks decision whether they allow you to keep the account open, just as it is the banks decision whether or not to allow you to open an account based on their criteria.

A bankruptcy will appear on your credit file for 6 years from the date of the bankruptcy order

Most banks won't allow you to open a full account until the BR has dropped off your credit file, 5 years from the date of discharge.
