I have been in an IVA for 5 yrs and 6 mnths, never missed any payments. As my job changed my income dropped in the final year and asked for this to go back to court to find out if my creditors would accept a drop but with me paying an extra 6 months, which was agreed and accepted and passed by the court.
My final payment was in September, and have had a letter from my IVA providers that this was the final payment. Until today, now by phone saying I owe an extra 2 months, I can not understand why or even how they can now say this. I have done everything by the book
so to speak. I have asked for an explanation but they couldnt give me one just saying I owe this extra 2 months money.
I am with Grant Thornton that had taken over from Blair Endersby (when I first started)
Many thanks
Karen
When I asked for an explanation they then said they will send my IVA for closure verification and if I owe anything else I have to pay it.
Try to speak to your IP, this happened to us near the end as well, but when they investigated there had been an error, they apologised and we had finished paying.
Many thanks for this,
I had all my paperwork out last night with looking at bank Direct Debits to them, never missing a payment. They say that I am £646.00 in arrears that was the phone call yesterday, as my yearly review was being looked at and £400 drop a month in wages they upped my payment from £378 to £1033.00 and I couldnt live, so I rang them and said they were reviewing my yearly account and will it be possible they reduce this, after they looked at my paperwork and proof of this they credited back into my account £646.00 and I carried on paying £300 per month as they suggested and said they would go back to my creditors to see if they would accept £300 per month for the final year plus an extra 6 months, this then went back to court and all was agreed.
From what you have said above it seems there has been an error however only GT can clarify this and confirm all payments have been made correctly. Go back to them with a clear breakdown of figures and agreements with dates and they will look into it for you. They need to be able to demonstrate to you how you are still in arrears alongside the communications you have had so let them investigate and come back to you.

I have phoned them this morning, and I pointed out the dates etc, they have seen where all this is and clarified to me that my IVA has gone for verification closure and is in their que and said they will look at all payments etc and should there be a query they will be in contact and at the same time advised me to cancel my Dd. The gentleman definately said he could see what had happend.
