I just wanted to come on and tell you all that it really is worth pushing for your certificate. Or at least it is with Grant Thornton anyway.

I made the final payment Feb 2012 and I was calling them once a month to chase it all up and was getting no where. It wasnt until I joined this forum and saw the suggestions to write to them by email and post, quoting this forum, that I actually got somewhere.

I got it yesterday, and the day before I got promoted. So perhaps we can finally put our flat on the market- a year later than planned.

Anyway, it really is worth pushing them! I emailed GT at ivacustomerservices@uk.gt.com, quoting my ref number and "IVA forum" in the subject line. I got a promise for regular updates, which I didnt actually get but thats probably because they closed my file much quicker than expected.

well done from me also

its a great feeling also

you should find once you have dropped off the insolvency register that your credit file then reflects a superb score

be sure however to check your credit file for a few months , as one of the CRAs has an annoying habit of mentioning your iva has been completed in the " notice of correction " field. this ,means should anyone check your credit file they see you have had an IVA which defeats the object of the insolvency service wiping the slate clean

you will find after a few months your score is perfect. 10 months after my CC was issued , ive just borrowed £5k for a new boiler , so there really is life after an IVA

well done again , go celebrate
Last payment made April 2012
Certificate received 1st Nov 2012

Thanks everyone, and particularly to 12 months to go. The fact that you've secured a loan soon after is really encouraging.
