I know I havn`t been so active lately, but I thought I`d let you know we got our CC`s in the post on Friday.
We had our F&F accepted early April and eventually went down a formal complaints procedure with Payplan as to why we had been waiting so long for the CCs. In the end it was HMRC holding things up due to our rather complicated background, with me being self employed. Tax inspectors went after us a couple of years ago even though we had done nothing wrong.
Being in business for 20 years one thing I have learned is HMRC target small guys and bully them because they can`t afford a fight - and it has got so much worse under the Tories. They protect their own to the point of letting them pay no tax at all. Or if you`re a millionaire have some back[:(!]

Well done on completion of the IVA but a pity it was not straightforward. It seems a little pointless HMRC carrying out investigations when you are in an IVA as they are only getting a percentage back.

Fab news re the CC.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I assume that the HMRC issue was correctly resolved for you prior to the Completion Certificates being issued?

Thanks Michael. No worries Mel, HMRC are so incompetent they didn`t even list any debt on the circular for the F&F meeting. Eventually PayPlan gave them a deadline to supply proof of debt, but it passed. In the end we didn`t suffer like many others are under this government ie being bullied while they let the big fry get off scott free, or worse - like giving millionaires massive tax rebates while the public sector face real wage reductions. Obscene.
Unfortunately it doesn`t make the news on the front pages but I`ve kept the local MP up to date. HMRC targetting those unable to defend themselves is a particularly nasty strategy of the Tories but like a lot of things it never gets reported in their newspapers. It`s easy money. But I tell you what when they come after you even though you`re innocent, it means nothing.
