Hi all, there was a time I would dread seeing the postman walking towards my door. Wondering what bill was coming through next. However today he brought a suprise. A letter from my good friends at hmrc saying they actually owed me money. With 2 weeks I will be in reciept of a cheque for £242.
My question is, is how do the ip's view this? It's not a gift nor a windfall in my opinion. Just a miscalculation in tax code meaning I have paid a little more than I should. I have emailed dfd as once again lines a busy but they appreciate my call.......
What's more stressful, living on a budget with a big clock counting down to freedom or not knowing who's going to call you next asking where there money is??
It's not what we do, it's how we deal with it that counts
I would imagine it will have to be paid into the IVA using the logic that, had the tax calculation been correct that would have given you more net income towards your disposable income and therefore more for your IVA.
This is, in effect, a refund of payments that would have gone into the IVA in any case.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
Oh well, seems the postie had missed a letter and just when you think it's gonna be a good day......... Wallop, seems hmrc have overpaid tax credits and require 553 back from us. Time to renew the I & E (again)
