We did an IVA full and final at the end of 2007 (now couple37!) and we are getting very close to finally seeing all those defaults drop off the file along with the IVA certificate
Just wondering - where a default says recorded until November 2013 for example, does that mean it's gone on the 1st November or on the 1st December?
I know it seems petty to wonder about a month when we've waited 6 years but just can't get wait to be rid of them as there is a lot I want to do like switch current accounts for starts.
Do you mean you still don't have your completion certifcate as I thought this would been issued post the F&F?
The brute as it were is the IVA which sits in the public record section, you'll find that experian tend to pop this in the notice of correction and it will stay there forever, which is just as bad as having it in the pr section. once you've got your £2 online CR phone up the UK freephone number and they will remove from the NOC over the phone

Hi
Yes, we had the certificate, sent that to the CA's years ago and the IVA is marked as discharged/completed, just literally waiting for it to drop off now
I will check on Experian though to make sure it's not lurking in the NOC section
Thanks

Over the past year and a half, we've had Vanquis and Capital one credit cards which we've used very carefully, paying off in full whenever used before any interest due.
Do companies doing credit searches at a later date, take the brand of credit card into account - eg if they see you have a good recent record but it's all with the likes of Vanquis, Capital One etc , do they then think if you are using cards like them then you must have had credit problems in the past and should be avoided?
Or is the actual supplier of the card not visible or irrelevant?
There are differing opinions about this - some people say they do, others say they don't. I had a Vanquis card for a while and, when my credit files were clear, I had no problems getting a Nationwide Select credit card.
Skippy my error Equifax. I suppose it is a marker that you have had a problem but on regular payments prove you have history, don't know. I've stiil no card of any sort other than my cash card but have a very high credit score, so am thinking about O% credit card my reasoning this route, they want you current account details and sort code as the key question, is this so they can access it, to see how you run your account and are cash postitive I wonder?
