Who is in charge ? Grant Thornton or EIC. Something strange seems to be going on here.

Last week i had a letter from santander about a ppi claim being made from grant thornton through EIC. they said a payment of £430 was due, £167 in interest and the outstanding for the ppi insurance. I filled it in and accepted for it to be placed in our bank account. Then i could send the outstanding amount to GT.
We have signed a variated with GT to say we are owed the interest(we are one of the luckier ones)Grant Thornton phoned, funny had same number as EIC(I even asked if it was Grant Thornton) they have intercepted and ensured this money is paid to them(bet i dont see the £167 of interest now!!)
Any way this morning have recieved a letter from santander. They say thankyou for the agreement the money has been sent to Grant Thornton UK LLP. I am really confused and wondering what is going on as EIC are supposed to be the company claiming all the PPI. Who is in charge Grant Thornton or EIC, something strange seems to be going on here. Funny as well as i contacted Grant Thornton on Monday to discuss and F&F as i have lost my job, very quick to get ppi claim from me, but no call about F&F!!!! Any advice

Its the same situation with these spotty letters proposing the mass variation --- on GT headed paper and signed by GT IPs, yet an EIC return address! Very convoluted relationship !

They do lurk in background but usually dont post anything but please e-mail us.
Too much criticism of them on forum for them to put heads above parapets (and yes im very vocal about thier failings on here.)

I really do wish someone from Grant Thornton would come on here and confirm exactly what the relationship between these two firms is to set everyone's minds to rest.

From what I can gather, EIC is basically GTs outsourced skivvy. Hardly surprising with all the different books they have taken on recently and the PPI issue creating an even greater workload for IPs.
just trying to help
