Hi,
I completed my IVA early in 2010 and it is due to drop off my credit file in November 2013.
I have had a Vanquis credit card since 2010 and have been putting bits on it and paying it off!!
My partner already has a good credit record and a mortgage himself
When we buy the property will be new and is priced at £250000
The new buy scheme gives us a 5% deposit which we can match and also takes of 5k armed forces discount
When he sells his house he should make around 30k from the sale.
We estimate we will only need about and £190000 mortgage all going to plan. Maybe 200000.
We both earn around 30k a year each. he has a car commitment of £250 a month but I don't have anything other than my credit building credit card.
Do you have to declare you have been in an Iva on your mortgage application? Will questions be asked?
I'm happy to answer them I just want a clear picture of before we go for our mortgage what info I will need.
My credit file will be clear so hopefully my iva shouldn't affect it at all? Is this right?
Any info you can give would be greatly appreciated
Many Thanks
J
Hi Jennifer,
There are a number of different issues you may have with this ie will your credit file be clean from all other defaults and missed payments.
There will be questions like you have suggested, but i would hope we could find a lender who we can overcome your issues.
If you can get in contact with me via the Experts tab on the left hand side of the page, we can then discuss your position personally

IVA Mortgage advice needed? Looking at Right to Buy and completed IVA still on credit files ?
Provided my credit file was totally clean does that make it easier?
I spent a lot of time after my ivefinished contacting the 3 agencies and all my creditors to amend any dates and mark everything as satisfied.
As far as I can tell it will all be off by the end of the year an my Iva is marked as complete with all three agencies too.
What sort of questions do they ask?
Also has anyone had any experience of this?
Thanks for your time
