Without prejudice:
I finished my IVA last June (2012) and still have not had my completion certificate (there's a shocker!), but have since agreed for GT to investigate any mis-selling of PPI, which has delayed the closure of my IVA!
I thought all was well, until I received another letter from GT on 18th Feb 2013 stating that they want me to agree to change the terms of my IVA to allow them to realise any claims and for them to release any interest back to me (net of costs), but upon reading the proposed 'changes', I am a bit concerned about the 'variation details' as it says things like 'Deed of Assignment' and 'VAT recovery' etc!!
I also notice if I agree they can draw a '£50 fee' to cover 'costs' - is this just another way for them to make some more money out of me?!?!
I states in the letter that if I say no to the proposed changes, it 'could' delay the closure of my IVA until until 'final legal guidance is issued on PPI' - this sounds like I'm being forced to agree in my opinion, but seeing as though I'm not making any payments, does it matter??
These letters are cleverly written so as to deliberately confuse you and it seems to work!! It also seems that every so often I am going to receive letters with 'changes' to benefit GT!
What should I do?
Thanks in advance.
Rick.

Oh Rick, I've no idea what to say as I don't understand a lot of it, in my mind you've made your payments you're finished. However, we don't live in the ideal world so will keep this bumped up for anothers opinion.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi wh523480. Welcome to the forum. I'm in a similar position with Payplan. They held a mass variation meeting last November and the majority were approved by creditors. They tried to claim a fee for the meeting, but the creditors rejected it! GT seem to be following this, which should mean that all those who have satisfied the t&c's of their IVA can be issued with the CC, rather than it being kept open indefinitely until all PPI claims have been exhausted, and VAT refunded. I signed the forms for PPI but have heard nothing nor had my CC - over 12 weeks after the variation meeting. Hope yours comes your way soon. x
IVA journey started: 30th March 2009. Settled: 17th July 2012. Completion Certificate received: 13th March 2013. Breathe. x

Hi Rick. I made a full and final settlement to GT in July last year and also don't have my completion certificate yet. I did have a letter about PPI shortly after the final payment but seeing as it took until October for my case to enter closure it's probably not surprising that I haven't heard anything about PPI yet (apart from the spotty enveloped letter recently). I hope I'm not going to be charged another £50 for the meeting tbh but am taking the attitude that this will finish. Eventually....
Paid F&F in July 2012 and received CC in July 2013

Hi kst101,
It's been about 7 months since I made my last payment and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight what with all the PPI reclaiming going on; I've heard nothing from EIC and don't know if they have managed to recover any monies?!
Did you have to pay GT £50 for the meeting??
Regards,
Rick.
