So we have just emailed our end of year review and shall wait for a response.
We are with GT and I have just joined the forum this evening and am a little scared by some of the posts.
We are still waiting on PPI outcomes and have been getting a few letters to say that certain creditors have not been getting their money or only being paid every other month.
Has anyone else had anything like this and what can we do about ensuring that all creditors are being paid and that GT are not going to try and sting us for monies outside of the IVA terms at the end.
This year has been really hard and with fuel bills rising and no pay rises plus CB being taken away I can only think that next year will be just as tough.
We have started eating with our neighbours a couple of times a week to reduce shopping bills on both parts I feel like I am going back to the War years although I am sure it will be worth it in the end. As long as my husband and I stay strong and don't hate each other and our daughter does not get to effected but the strain that we are under.
I can not wait to be writing this email in 4-5 years time.
It's an upheal battle but I am trying to smile through it and learn how to dance in the rain.
I recently moved ( or was moved) to GT from Tenon. A move I was not happy about !
However, my first review with GT followed about a month after the move .. and I was not looking forward to it. But it went well and the end result was a reduction in my payments!
I have had a couple of issues, related to my IVA (not with GT) and they have been sorted out quickly and in a helpful and friendly manner. So far I can say I have been pleasantly surprised.
The majority of complaints with GT have been (are) related to closures, which has been complicated by the ongoing PPI investigations. Hopefully, once GT get their act together, this should soon be a thing of the past.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
Welcome to the forum.....like many other members concern around the closure process does exist but hopefully by the time you reach this stage it will have resolved itself.
When we were in our IVA our IP did not pay the creditors every month. I believe they received a quarterly amount and this was recorded in our annual reviews. Your IP may well hold onto some funds during the course of the IVA but if any interest is gained then this will be added to the creditors pot.
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt
There is a solution for everyone .... Just need to stay positive !
Hello Stacca and welcome to the forum. We are not with GT ourselves but if there's anything I can help with I will try to answer.
I too find things difficult at the moment,we have only been in our IVA for three months so I suppose it will take a while to get used to it.
I'm sure that your family will be fine, just take one day at a time that's what I do.My husband gets a bit stressed,a lot actually!! but together we will get through, and so will you.X
Hi stacca. What a lovely post! There's lots of positives here. Firstly, congratulations for getting through your first year. You are in the fortunate position of investigating PPI at the start rather than the end. Importantly, you have nice enough neighbours to 'break bread with' on a weekly basis. That sounds so lovely!! Maybe us all going back to some aspects of the war era's no bad thing = "make do and mend"! Re: distribution to creditors, you could seek clarification from your IP. Finally, no-one knows what's around the corner. I never expected to end my IVA so early, but you are doing well so far. x
