Hi there
I was on Iva for almost 9 months, then I had. A job offer in Dubai for 18 months contract, since I left the uk, I stopped paying my monthly Iva payments.
Now my contract is due to end soon and I want to go back to the uk,
My questions are:
Can I resume my Iva after my return?
Well I get arrested in the airport on my return because I didn't my Iva ?

Thanks

Hi there, not sure you'll get arrested and I'm guessing that your IVA failed and your debts will be sat here waiting for you. You can contact some companies to talk about all debt solutions and start from scratch. Were you aware you could have taken your IVA to Dubai with you?
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi. I am afraid you will have to start all over again, and in the meantime your debts would have grown with charges and interest.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Hi trb6. Welcome to the forum. I don't believe that this is an arrest-able matter as IVA's are governed by Contract Law, but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along to clarify this. IVA's usually fail following 3 unauthorized missed payments, so assume it has. I suppose you could contact the company you used to see exactly where things stand concerning your outstanding debts. Good luck. x

You won't get arrested - but your IVA may well have failed in your absence. Have you been keeping up dialogue with your IP in the meantime - and was there any reason why you were unbable to make payments from Dubai?
