Hi all,

Post title sums it all up really! Had a payment break earlier in the year as the car was pooped. Well this time it's gone for good. Bad times!

I need the car for work and children duties, and I have no family available to take out any kind of finance to pay back.

What are my options? I've seen Moneybarn are IVA friendly - are they worth a punt. I imagine that would need me to approach the supervisor and suchlike. Would that be the same if my partner (who is not in the IVA) took it out for me? Obviously that would reduce her disposal income though.

Anyone else been in the same boat?

Cheers!

DK

Hi Dodge -- you might be able to get a payment break agreed to allow you to save up for a modest banger ( but that won't solve the issue in the short term.

Your partner is free to do whatever she wishes with her money.

I would discuss this with your IP - after all no car means no work, so it is in the creditors interests to enable the IVA to continue by coming to some sort of arrangement.

Michael has more than his fair share of common sense, if anything can be done he will know how to do it!

your partner is not restricted about anything if she is not in a iva.they might want a deposit tho so you might have to have a look at that.her income is only for her share of the bills so if she can afford the car as well go for it.

If your partners credit rating is good a modest loan would be an option but you need to run any plans past your ip.
