well just a wee update our iva has been accepted and i couldnt be happier its taken such a weight off our minds and just feels amazing to know we can live without debt ruling our lives ...
this forum has been great for helping us understand what happens next in this journey ...
one question id like to ask the experts is in relation to my mortgage id said before about how my ex husband is on the mortgage wi me as my husband and i didnt have affordability due to giving my ex money to keep the house so my question is now we have done the iva our affordability has definitely changed but i was wondering would they let us take on the mortgage now with being in the iva ??

Started IVA 27th Feb 2012 - Due to complete 27th Jan 2018 !!

Full & Final submitted and accepted 30th March 2015, paid 10th April 2015 - 3 yrs 1 month into IVA :)

Completion Certificate received- 30th April 2015!!

Excellent news, congratulations!

I've no idea on the mortgage question. One of the experts will be along to help with that.

Hi - not 100% sure but I think you would find it hard to amend a mortgage whilst in an IVA.

No harm in asking though - but I would be prepared for your mortgage company to say no.

I doubt that your ex-husband will be allowed to be released from the mortgage, but no harm in asking.

IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Melanie uv just confirmed what iv been thinking but just seems madness when he doesn't even contribute to the mortgage at all and has no interest in the property now as he's Been moved out for 4 years....

Yes - but the mortgage company will see him remaining on the mortgage as a further bit of security for them in the event that you could default on the mortgage at some time in the future.

Great news on the IVA acceptance..have to agree with others female from the mortgage is unlikely.
