can anybody tell me why since my iva was moved to grant thornton 2 years ago..they have appeared to never of recieved any of my paperwork, wage slips and reciepts that are needed for my review, even though they were all sent in the envelopes provided by them.. getting really wound up now..as they have never contacted us to say they have not recieved them...why am i paying these people nearly 10 thousand pounds in fees to deal with this when i am the one doing the chasing?i have given up on them now and taken advice from a financial advisor who is currently dealing with this..iva's supposed to be stress free..not the case with grant thornton at the moment..has anyone had similar problems?
They have a lot on their plates with cases that they inherited from other IP firms which may be causing problems - and I can certainly recommend using Karol's services as she has assisted many GT clients who have sought to complain about their services on the forum.
GT did not "inherit" cases from other firms - they bought the portfolios of other firms for not inconsiderable amounts of cash, presumably with a view to making sizeable profits.
Operating within a regulated industry, they should be obliged to ensure they have sufficient staff resources to be able to cope with the extra workload following the acquisition.
If it were operating in a normal commercial environment, a company acquiring another business but failing to properly service their customers post acquisition, would see those customers quickly migrating to another supplier. Unfortunately people in an IVA do not have the luxury of being able to sack their IP on the grounds of poor service.
May I suggest that you contact our Customer Service Team on 0844 855 2166 or by email to ivacustomerservices@uk.gt.com (please put "IVA Forum" in the subject line) in order that we can understand exactly what difficulties you are experiencing and to enable us to deal with them for you.
