I am trying to clear up my credit report and am after some advice please.
I am receipt in of my certificate of completion and have sent copies to the relevant creditors.
My query is regarding final status and balance's. Some show as settled with a nil balance others with partial settlement and nil balance.
Lastly 2 with partial settlement but the balances fluctuate between the original loan amount, zero, the default balance of £6435 and then now they have received my cert it has risen to £6955 ???
What should they be, post me supplying copies of my certificate ???
I am in the same boat as you at the moment. Once they receive confirmation that your IVA is completed, The default date should be marked as the start date of your IVA acceptance and the balances should be shown as nill and either satisfied or partially satisfied. I guess at the end of the day providing that the outstanding balance is showing as zero, which it should be thats what matters. I have had many probs, but getting there now. Some accounts they have moved all the defaults etc but now showing a outstanding balance and available credit !

IVA completed . Just started a blog, if you get chance please take a look. http://rich.blogs.iva.co.uk/
Some posts on here have come to the conclusion. It makes not a jot of difference what you do with your credit file whilst the IVA is marked on there even as satisfied, as my bank manager says no one will lend you a pencil.
There's some eveidence to suggest that if you mess about with it it will take even longer to drop off your credit file
I think the conclusion they all drop after six years so let that naturally happen. As one poster put it's like a scab pick at it and it will take twice as long to heal - nice
And don't apply for any credit until all of the defaults etc have droped off, the less insitution know the better they may keep their own records
That will only leave you with your current account and with no overdraft you'll get 6 years worth of 0 (a good thing for credit score)so very little to do
I'm going to wait till July of next year, i'll hopefully have my cc by then (sorry being a bit sarcastic there), no seriously i''m going to wait till the 6th year anniversary and then go to Experian etc to start to clear out.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.
IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.
My 6 years is up tomorrow, it's almost a reason to do a little dance lol. My credit file is looking pretty tidy apart from the iva on it which should drop off very soon.
It's a great feeling people and so worth the hard graft to get there.
Do that dance gizmo - for you and for everyone else striving to get to where you have got to.
Well done and best wishes
