Hi, I completed my IVA in May 2012. I sent off all the relevant letters etc., and went to get a mortgage. Unfortunatley my credit file is still showing a default relating to a current account and one credit card is showing defaulted. I have today sent off a letter to Max Recovery (v difficult trying to find their address) to try and sort this out. I assume I will have to write to the bank about the current account. How long will it be before I can get a mortgage. The stupid thing is I can understand in a way why they r being cautious but the equity in the property far outweighs the amount I want to borrow so if I defaulted (which I wont) they would get their money back no trouble.

Unfortunately the equity outweighing the amount borrowed wont come into it if you fail the basic credit check which you always will with defaults still on file.
Hopefully if you try again after you have sorted out your files you may have more chance of success.
