Hello all,

Not been on here for a while it is nice to see so many people getting near completion or completed who have helped me in the past. Well Done.

My IVA has been going soso over the last 2.5 years but in this last 6 months things have been going haywire.

Big bill from EDF Energy, not able to put the extra £76 into IVA
Wife ends up working full 40hr weeks instead of 26hrs and thinging it would only be temporary IVA wouldn't add it into her main income so having to pay 50% of any remaining after 10% uplift, this has now been going on since February may end in October but not sure.
Large vets bill which we should of asked for a payment break for but have tried to pay it by not using full benefits for other things - big mistake.

Also not sure how we do it but we don't have any uplift money to pay over by the end of the month. We haven't bought anything extravagant but seem to hav eto pay out for my 16 & 13 year old to do things which the 20per month in the IVA just dosen't cover.

Up to now I think I have built up around £500 but am hoping that my big overtime payment due on July 31st may clear this and pay the uplift. (Rather large has they haven't paid it to me for over 10months!)

but if it isn't as large as what I think I may end up having my IVA defaulted which I really don't want.

I have spoken to my IVA people who are evry good, but I think sometimes they can't keep up with my changes and just say things , which seem in benefit of the IVA. Example recent reply just said at teh bottom we await your £400 payment (even though I had told them i didn't have the money).

This is starting to cause me worr and until 3 months ago I was on anti d's for stress and am trying not to go back down that route as I am currently applying for a promotion, which will please the IVA lol.

Any way if anyone else has had similar issues then can you let me know the results.

Besides this hiccup the IVA has always been paid, uplift has been paid when required only these last 6months it has been an issue.

Thanks in advance,
Martyn

Nice to hear your update....let's hope the overtime is paid next week and it will then resolve itself. However I would look to have a review of your I&E and ask them to ensure your allowances are set realisitically against actual costs and that consideration be given to a payment break if need be or a small extension to allow for the catch up of the uplift.

Hi luluj,

I was thinking the same myself, I just don't know where they money goes. If I had new electronics, new TV's etc then I would say I was stupid, but when it is a bit here a bit there etc. it soon adds up. Sons prom was a recent one, £60 suit (ASDA) £6 Shirt (ASDA) and £50 for my mate to pay for his vintage car to take him and his girlfriend there.
Well I have sent another email to my IVA company today as they sent me some figures and completely forgot about some new payments for my wifes dental nurse registrations we had to pay.

Must still say though they are really good generally.

PS Never knew a 16 year old could eat so much when not at school lol

Hi martin the only thing I can help on is our hours went up and down on the first iva and we did a new income expenditure every 3 months as the temp contracts were for 3 months at a time . Put the new costs of the kids on the I and e . We Put the kids in after school club for activities and worked around those hours at one point. Kills 2 birds with 1 stone. The kids got to do stuff and we got to work. On my 2nd iva we were allowed an amount a lot higher than that for kids activities. Can you find out somehow what the maximum you can have under your iva for that. It seems some ips are different with what they allow. Good luck

I know how you feel Martin I worked some overtime and had to pay back money also but the amount that we are allowed for expenses just doesn't same to go bery far at times and it is on day to day living it is hard when you have teenagers as they can eat so much especially during school holidays when they are sitting around the house
