What a relief this must be for you bussielizzie. It really is unacceptable to have to wait this long. I am sure that people would not get away with this sort of service in any other industry! Well done for getting your certificate (or at least the promise of it!)

Hi CS2012 and Dipsy, I am pleased to say that my completion report was sent to me over a week ago now and I am just pleased that the issue has been sorted out. CS2012, I would advise you to get in touch with the Debt people by email and explain your frustrations as calling them was fruitless. Explain that you will be getting in touch with DEMSA to let them know how unprofessional the matter has been handeled if you do not get a call back and your completion report within the next few days. DEMSA were good and I would advise anyone to use them. I felt that the Debt People were sending mixed messages, one person was saying that the VAT money has been issued and would be allocated, the other person would say that they were still waiting for the VAT. Confusing! My IP was very good after my complaint and called me within a matter of days and then my report followed. Good luck CS2012 and let us know how you get on.

After finally getting a letter from The Debt People at the beginning of June confirming that my IVA has now been completed I have sent this to Experian and have told me that they cannot remove it from my credit file as I need to get my Insolvency Practioner to send them the paperwork direct! When I called Experian yesterday they then said that I needed to contact the Insolvency Service and get them to amend their records before Experian can remove it from my file! I thought the Insolvency Service primarily dealt with bankruptcy and not so much with IVA's!!! Anyone else having problems getting it removed from their credit file? I wrote to Callcredit and Equifax and Callcredit have confirmed that they have removed it from my record. This is driving me insane now, just as I thought I had finally got it sorted.
When I originally rang Experian they advised me to email it to their customer services address which is exactly what I did.
Anyone have any advice please??
Getting very desperate now! It has now been one year and three months since I made my 60th and final payment into my IVA and im still having problems!

Thanks KM1512, good luck with your future too. Helena.hs hope you resolve your issue soon. I assumed that the Debt people sent a copy of the completion report to the credit agencies. I now need to get in touch with Experian etc to see what is the best possible action to take so my credit record can be updated. Please let me know how you managed to get the credit company to remove the IVA from your records. Thanks.

Glad to see that this has eventually been resolved for you by the direct intervention of your IP. Good luck for the future.

Well, I still haven't received my completion certificate! Tomorrow I'm going on holiday for a couple of weeks & if my certificate isn't waiting for me on my return I will contact Watchdog forthwith - publicity is long overdue! [:(!]

Hi CS2012, hope when you get back that you have received your completion Report. I would advise you to write a HOT email as talking to someone does not make a difference [:(!]. Alternatively, try your IP first. The Debt People have been very incompetent and they did not even tell me if I had to inform the credit reference agency of my completion etc. Not happy with the After Care service on completion but just glad not to be dealing with them anymore I hope![?]

It is not really your IP's responsibility to deal with the clearing of credit files bussylizzie - our responsibilities end once the Certificate of Completion has been issued, but most firms would at least answer any questions you had relating to the procedure if this was necessary.

Ok, thanks for that Melanie. I will get in touch with the credit reference agencies. I assumed that they sent the completion report (was not a certificate but report)to the credit reference agencies but i stand corrected!
