My Husband does not have a bank account, is he able to open one while in IVA?

Hi,

Hre should be able to open a basic one. Co-op are highly recommended. Can only be done over the phone or in branch though.

make sure that whoever he choes its not a creditor ie not part of his iva
cc received 6th January 2014 now upwards and onwards

Hi Angiepops, I have a Coop Cashminder Account and it comes with a Visa debit card which is really convenient for shopping and on line purchases etc

Angie the Co Op account is pretty good and their online banking is very easy and straightforward to use too. The only negatives I can think of are no cheque book, which is useful to have occasionally and I've had a couple of times where the card has declined in supermarkets when the money was in the account...something to do with the databases not being updated with the card type I'm told.

But other than that, it's a good account to have and I'd recommend it.

hiya,
ive found nationwide to be very good, their basic account also allows direct debits, standing orders and comes with a visa debit card.
