Hi Mike. I just thought that, as re-registered had a similar style to yours, you might have been one and the same.

Welcome to the forum, by the way. I think we are jumping at shadows following another "mystery poster" who had us all intrigued earlier and, evidently, turning me into a bad Miss Marple!

I still don't know why one of Mel's clients would be in touch with you when Mel is totally contactable either via normal contact details or via the forum.

I think that Foggy was being a little sarcastic - if he wasn't then I apologise.

I just wonder why you would feel the need to post if the OP has already been in contact with Mel and would love to know which company you work for.

I am sure that Mel will not be pleased to know that one of her clients felt the need to contact someone else - she is well known for being excellent at contacting her clients, as are her staff.

hth - if the OP is in contact with Mel than why are you posting?

Yes, I have read the whole thread.

I don't think Foggy was giving you a compliment.

Foggy - I do wonder about this poster - why on earth would they be posting if the OP is already in contact with Mel?

I agree, something doesn't seem quite right here.

Yes, Jan, I do see your concerns. I, also, have directed many people here ( as I am sure most of us have ), but have never had the need to follow them up. Indeed, I don't know if they are here, other than those whose names I recognise!

Exactly! The fact that they have taken up the invitation should be enough and I certainly wouldn't alert anyone to the fact that I knew the name of a poster on here.

I would like to thank hth for what appears to be good intentioned advice to one of my clients who felt the need to seek assistance outside of my firm. It is not appropriate to discuss the factual issues of this particular case, which I am sure most readers who know me will realise does have reasons for the issues raised, and which had already been dealt with in liaison with the poster's husband and the lawyers involved in the house sale.

I spend a good degree of my time assisting people who are having difficulties with their own firms, and trying to point them in the direction of the people who can really help them - ie their own particular IPs. It would be very pigheaded to think that on the odd occasion, one of my own clients may feel the need to also seek advice outside of my firm, although of course I would always prefer that they contacted me directly to discuss difficulties which are usually then easily rectified. All of my clients have my personal e-mail address, my office number and direct dial - all communication lines being always open to me.

Can I just make it absolutely clear, given that this poster has chosen to take a public route, that at no time were either she or her husband at risk from losing a house sale or being made bankrupt.

Finally, can I thank Jan for drawing this to my attention again this evening - I received your e-mail at half-time during the Cardiff v Ulster rugby match, and have just arrived home. I would also be interested to know what hth means by "directing her to a higher place", and am sure that we can also discuss this matter off-line.

Thanks also to all of you other posters who have shown an interest in this post.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner
