For people asking about credit cards -have you tried using pre paid credit cards ? this will build up yr credit and anyone can have one - they good and you can put any amount fromm a few pounds to a max of £5000 - dont laugh I dont have that but i can save 20 a month and this gives me credit and builds my credit rating - hope tht may help
Prepaid cards do have their uses, but of course they're not actually credit cards and not everywhere will accept them, especially for hotels and hire cars if you go abroad.
Sharing from experiences of dealing with debt

I think the pre-pay card has a place in the market but do feel I will get a credit card for myself post-IVA and just make sure it's paid off in full when the bill arrives. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
Anyen - there is only one or two on the market that have any effect on your credit building - that the ones that require you to take a Loan out over the year (which covers the cost of the card)
If the company that issue the card "goes bust" - any credit on the card wont be covered by the return of money regulations.
Whilst the cards are useful - they dont offer the same protection other normal credit cards offer
The normal ones do nowt for rebuilding credit. Vanquis or granite are better and offer much more protection if the provider goes bust!! Most prepaid cards you would lose whats on them if the bank went belly up!!
