For those who don't know what been going on, I made a full and final offer to my creditors back in December'ish last year through my IP Grant Thornton. The offer was accepted once a review on my I&E was completed. The payment was made on the 1st March of this year, and I have been chasing my Letter of Completion since, being quite patient about the delays.
I finally had a letter through from my IP today and you can imagine my excitment about opening it 8 months after the final payment was made... Guess what, it's an annual review request - WHAT????????
Surely once a full and final has been accepted and payment made, how can you then access me 8 months down the line to see if theres a surplus. Of course there is, I'm not paying anything to you, so my former IVA payment is surplus to start with! I have also worked my rear end off overtime wise to pay the vast sum of money back to my kind mother-in-law who lent it so I could offer a full and final in the first place. What do I do now, say sorry mother in law, i need that all back so I can pay it to the IVA company you kindly paid for me 8 months ago.... How is that gonna work?
She is pretty good at getting things sorted. You should have had your completion letter long before this. Are you still on the register?

If the full and final money has been paid over then you wont pay a penny more. This is clearly an error on their part. I wouldnt have been as patient as you!!!

Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
Continuing to rebuild our credit worthiness.
Yes, I'm still on the insolvency registar, and I have been bugging GT for my certificate. It was delayed going to closure department internally for a little while - not sure why, maybe just a mix up at GT, which I was fine with.. Then delayed again because not all creditors had claimed, which was explained to me and I was ok with. I received an E-mail from Karol recently saying all claims had been recieved and I should have a certificate shortly.. So again, you can imagine my happiness when that letter marked up as GT came through the post 40mins ago.
I seriously hope this is an oversight, but as GT are shut till monday, I now have to again stress about this till Monday at the earliest... Frankly, with all the delays, I think I have been through enough already.
It's about time this was sorted and hopefully you can get it done on Monday.

I would have happily camped outside their office, but I'm not sure that I coud have justified the expediture on a tent and ferry ticket when submitting any bank statements! .
Karol is out of the office according to e-mail autoreply, so I guess I'll go through the traditional route and hope someone picks up on this quickly.
a full & final IVA usually has a clause saying it may take up to 12mths to be settled - ours did. it apparently gives all creditors time to submit final claims.
we did a f&f IVA with Mel Giles early this year,it completed in August this year - we got completion certificates through within days.
we are still waiting to come off the Insolvency reg. there is a footnote on there for us saying that if it's a f &f IVA you stay on the reg. for 3mths after the date of debts being settled.
you will not have to pay any more £ across,we got on with re paying my parents back right away too.
use the link posted above, put in your email subject bar IVA FORUM. GT have been v good at responding to forum posters problems.
good luck.
Nothing stays the same...everything changes..hang on in there!
Hi taliesin, has this request come at the same time as previous I&E s? If so this could just be a fact that as its not completely closed yet, they have thrown out this letter by mistake.
Yes, its come out about the same time as my normal yearly I&E.. You know what it's like though, your always waiting for something to throw a little spanner in the works and i'll not relax until that letter of completion is in my hands.
I have picked up your emauil this morning and a member of my Customer Service Team will be in touch with you today.
