You can tell him after approval so it won't come as much of a shock, however if you're stopping paying now then the bank will be in touch with him soon.

Once your proposal is back then it's usually sixteen days to.the meeting.

Once you sign your proposal and check it thoroughly you return it and then your meeting date will be set. Check that proposal with a fine tooth comb and make sure you understand everything you're signing up for, 60/72 months is a long journey and you want to be comfortable with everything. x

I know how you feel Anne - I was at the stage of withdrawing cash on credit cards and then going in and making minimum payments. It was awful.

Its a tough realisation that you have somehow failed in life.

Deciding to act will be the best decision you have made in years!!!

annearchie - cant really add anymore to what people have already said. Just offering you support - it is difficult to face up to reality of debt - you have already made the hardest decision - accepting there is an issue - although the IVA is NOT easy - there is a end to it after a period of time.

Right up until preparing for the Proposal I was still trying to convince myself that I owed about half of what I REALLY owed.

I actually started my phone call with "I owe abour £x". When I had reeled off the individual figures the reply was, "Actually, you owe £2x!".

It hit home when it was all written down on paper .... bit of a shock, I can tell you!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
