I suppose i was just putting across the fact that i know we borrowed the money, i know we spent it, i know it was our choise, but im not always comfortable with it being put across that the credit card companys are being extremley kind and helping all of us out.

They are only intrested in one thing and that is"MAKING AS MUCH MONEY AS THEY CAN!".

Like your proposal says, you get this return in the IVA, or you get this return if you make them bankrupt, so my guess is that nowdays with people really struggling they would rather have a bit of something rather than a lot of nothing!

The only people who are really helping us are the IP's who are running good companys like MELs, and i belive they do have our intrests at heart.

The thing we have to do is learn a big lesson and dont make a pact with the devils again!!!!!

True Baldy. I would put the forum IP's and experts up among the best. They all go the extra mile ( and more ) for us. But I would add that our fellow posters are also heroes in their own right, by facing their debt problems and helping us all by sharing experiences and knowledge and giving each other much appreciated support.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Absolutely baldy - I love the fact that when I go out and buy anything (be it 99p or £9.99) it is actually all bought and paid for. I can see the advantages of getting a card for emergencies when the IVA is over, but I hope in the next 57 months I can train myself that I will never ever spend what I cannot afford.

I was thrown cards, credit, credit card cheques for years and years and I happily used it all. However, then banks like MBNA decided to help me sort out my debt by increasing the minimum payment each month... thanks - it finished us off!!!

Trust me guys - there are many, many good IP firms out there, and whilst I appreciate the comments about the ones who may not come up to the mark, perhaps that is because we only get to read about the bad stories on forums like this. How many genuinely happy people in IVAs would be bothered to spend time regularly on debt forums rather than getting on with their lives!

mmmm me Mel, I'm genuinely happy and come on here everyday as it's my lifeline. This is part of my life to be fair now.

I agree there are lots of good firms that we don't hear about for that reason. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I haven't got much of a life at the moment Mel, the forum keeps me sane!
I would always defend IP fees to the hilt, I appreciate there are IP's that are not as helpful (thank goodness I chose ok!) but fees are agreed with the creditors and if they are happy with them, so am I!![:D]

Lesley - thank goodness there are people like you to share your thoughts and ideas with others. You have helped so many people over the last few years - including me when my little doggie was sick last year.

Foggy - I am sure that you are well looked after by your current provider, and your inquisitive views on the forum often spark lively debate - which is the key spirit of this forum.

Hey Foggy, i couldnt agree more. There are so many people on here who spend their time giving advise and giving lots of support to people who are either just starting the IVA route, or are in one now.

Its really good to be able to get somebodys view on a situation. I know i post a few comments about finance companys now and then that dont always go down well!!!
but i will still maintain they have played their part in helping us get into some of the situations we have found ourselves in.

I am very very gratefull for all the help on this site and i only wish that maybe alot more people who are struggling were able to find this site first before they start their journey.

Are we happy in our IVA? i guess considering what could have happened yeah i guess i am.I do get a bit stressed sometimes when i feel somebody at the end of the phone can make things difficult but on the whole yeah im ok, Its just nice to have a rant now and then!!

Baldy[:)]Hope you all have a nice weekend.
