Perhaps because you paid upfront?

Depends on the car hire company. Some check your credit record but do not credit score you. They check to see if you are a real person and do not have any background of fraud. Car hire companies just want to know you won't steal their car, you usually pay up front or they authorise the money on your card so bad credit probably won't prejudice your application. CIFAS warning flags would be the main thing they looked for.

Cifas is brilliant - I used to subscribe after having had my details used to fund someones mobile phone habit!!

Don't do it now but will certainly sign back up to it when I've finished.
