Hi All,

Just want to start by saying what a great site this is. The help and advice that is given and the support shown to all is inspirational. This site and the people on it have kept me going through the tough times over the last few years.I have never posted before as i have always found the answer i needed somewhere on the forum.

I am in the 5th year of my IVA very near to the end of my 60 payments...2 to go. My question is what happens near the end?? How will i know i have finished?? I'm a little worried as i have just received through the post this morning another yearly review document. Is this normal? Do they review your 5th year before writing to tell you it is complete? I do not own a house so have no equity release clause.

I look forward to your advice

Many thanks

Paul

Hi and welcome to the forum and well done for being almost at the end.

Speak to your IP company just to make sure of the date of your final payment. It is normal to just do a final review, nothing to worry about.

A 5th review is normal and nothing to worry about. Well done for getting through a process which at times can seem endless!

Thanks again everyone for the replies.

Yes Jan, I'll let you all know how the last payment goes.

Your right Paul. It really does seem like an endless journey at times. Like you say Kazza reading the success stories on here really does give you hope and inspiration. It certainly helped me stay focused and keep going. Now I am very near to the end. It is a strange feeling, one of excitement and nervous disbelief that I am so nearly there. When you first start out the end does seem so far off but when you get there you realise how fast it has gone.

I will post again soon to let you know how it has gone!

Thanks

Paul

How fantastic that Paul has found such great support from the forum without being interactive personally. I wonder how many "Pauls" there are out there who the forum has helped over the years.

The other posters are correct Paul - and if your own IP works in the same way as me we simply need to know whether you have received any windfalls in the last year which should have been declared and paid over. Hopefully you do not have the requirement to return a minimum dividend which could result in more money being demanded until that figure is achievable, and that you can put the whole thing to bed in a couple of months' time.
