Hi All,

Last wednesday my IVA proposal was accepted. It was a little strange since only 10% (by value) of my creditors voted but that was enough! Only amex put forward some unacceptable modifications (7 years and reducing pension payments) but since they were in a significant minority we politely declined their modifications.

I was with the iva advice company (Mels team). The review of my finances was necessarily thorough but all my dealings with them were positive. communication was excellent and I wouldn't hesitiate to recommend them should to anyone who thinks they need an iva.

the acceptance day itself was a little strange, although very pleased my proposal was accepted I didin't really feel like celebrating (there was a bottle champagne from christmas ready to do the job in the fridge) since i was essentially now insolvent. however, the events sunk in a day or two later and the champagne was quoffed!

To all those observers reading these posts, the IVA route is not an easy option but if your circumstances ar unsustainable then its worth discussing. Also, to those worrying theirs won't be accepted, as far as i can see as long as your best offer is on the table its more a 'probable' and less a 'maybe'.

To the IVA company (Mels team namely, Amee, Claire, ,Mark and Susan in my case), you provided an excellent service which was very well delivered, please keep up the good work. Of course, i wouldn't have found you without reading the many posts from Mel which showed a sensible commonsense approach was one of the conerstones of the practice.

To the forum regulars, also keep up your good work - Kallis, do you have any finger tips left after the gazillion posts?! [;)]

All the best to everyone in the process and within their IVA

"Do or do not, there is no try" ( i don't personally believe this quotation as a good try is always worth it, but it sounded good [;)])
Every day we grow a little wiser

Congratulations badger, really pleased for you and another good result for Mel and her team.

I do have fingertips left but my computer keyboard has had to have protective stuff on the keys so the letters don't disappear!!!!!

Keep posting so we know how you are getting on.

hi, well done, what a weight off you. i agree it isn't an easy route but it is much better than being where we were.

Kall is a star, i will always be grateful for the people like her who ,"picked me up" when i landed on the board - scared to death at the mess we were in!

well done, moving forward is a great place to be!
