Hi guys i hope you can help me with this question that i cant figure an answer out to. My wife and i have recently split up and now she is looking for her own place to live. She has applied with the council but she doesnt really want to go with them but to private rent she now needs to get a job and save a deposit to go privately rented. I am in a iva that is only in my name. To my understanding the iva payment amount is determined on the total household income, therefore if she gets a job my amount of iva payment will increase due to her extra income which i totally understand. The problem is though if she wants to save for a deposit how can she do so if she has to put a large chunk of her wages into the household bills as well as pay for childcare

Hi - I'm sorry to hear about your relationship. If you explain the situation to your IP, I'm sure they will allow your wife to keep her income to save for a deposit and set up her new life. x
