Ours is SCS now but we've had a couple of DFS sofas and loved them.

I'll be back there when we can afford a new one!

Hi
Most annoying thing is I beleive you pay up front for the sofa and most people, I know have waited up to 10 weeks for delivery. Would it be worth asking to just pay a deposit, that way, the sofa is on order, and by the time you take delivery two months later you may be able to pay in full.

Just a suggestion. Never ordered myself directly from DFS.

I still doubt that you would be able to buy a sofa even if you pay a deposit.

They don't know if you are going to pay in full once the sofa or suite has been delivered.

Unless you pay cash for the whole amount up front, then you will be credit checked and may well be refused credit.

True, I never really thought of it like that Jan, as you do specifically order to the specification you want, bad idea of mine, but would of been nice I suppose.

The worst suite (0r suite experiance) we have ever had was from SCS. We paid over £2000 for it AND took out the insurance. After just 12 months it had gone flat and we were told it was out of warranty and the insurance DIDNT cover it.
Trading Standards fought them for us and won and they took it back and re padded it. Now nearly 9 years on its in my friends house still going strong and still looking fab.
i have had another since then from Land of Leather and now have another new leather recliner suite coming in a few weeks from a local place which i have to say is fantastic!!

Our suite is SCS and we had problems shortly after we had it as the leather faded on hubbys seat - they tried to tell us that it was because he had used products on his hair! He wouldn't know a hair product if it hit him in the face!

They replaced it and we've been happy with it since.

Could do with replacing it but it will have to wait a while!

Our's is very flat in places, thanks to a certain black and white cat sleeping on the back!

I've only ever had one new suite in my life, get your violins out....honest I sometimes wonder looking around how I got into debt, do have some photos from some holidays and a lot of clothes that don't it with labels still on but apart from that nothing. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

As you know Jan Harry does pretty much what he wants! He hasn't scratched the leather too much, but the back is completely flat in places where he sleeps!

Lesley, I'm the same, I have nothing to show for a lot of debt!

Ah...Lesley i don't even have a sofa or armchair! I moved from furnished to semi-furnished while in my iva and haven't been able to buy anything. And I don't want a second payment break or my iva will last forever.
