Seen a similar porblem with MBNA- they are ringing me everyday at work- am not allowed personal calls at work. Have written to them twice asking them to stop and explaining I am just having an IVA proposal written and passing on all the details/ tel no/ reference number etc.

It is getting embarassing now having others pass on messages too that they rang. I have now sent a letter recorded delivery using a template I found on the internet . I don't want to get into trouble at work about this- have a high profile job and want to keep it.

Each time they ring my direct line I explain I am not allowed personal calls at work. What else do I need to do? I appreciate they are chasing their money and have paid them a token amount today as thye are harassing me. It may be another 6-8 weeks before things are in place.

How distressing for you. I know a few posters are bothered by this, several suggestions have been offered in the past, is there a way you can change your number with them, even to the point of it being a false one?

Can your IP intervene and maybe talk/write to them? They're risking your job basically and they must stop this, I'll try and find a link to an earlier post.

Someone who has experience of this will be along very soon x

Might be worth a read and there may be something that can help.

I hope the calls stop soon. xx

If you have access to the online bit of your account get on there and change your work number to 000000000000 - or to your mobile number if you don't mind that. They might try the work number again if you never answer (they went back to trying my parents number after I stopped picking up the mobile) but it won't be so constant.

Speaking to your IP is also an excellent idea. A call from them might do something more (especially if it puts your job at risk - then no one wins)

And it won't be forever, try to cling to that thought! (easier said than done I know - see any of my previous posts to see my inability to do this myself!)

You can always lie and say that the person they need to speak to is away on long term sick, or has left the company.

I'd tend to do as Jan suggests and give them an alternative home/mobile number, I know it won't stop the calls but it will buy time within the workplace. x

Tell them to delete the work number from their records and give them a time that you will answer your mobile or landline. This normally works and if you have any problems ask to speak to a manager. Make sure though that you then answer whatever phone if they ring at the agreed time.

I was being chased by creation finance/sygma too. It was my mobile no and I just requested that it was removed from their system and they could contact me at home. They did. Just be firm.
