I certainly wouldn't pay anyone to do it either. I shall quite look forward to telling them to correct it!

I've never looked at mine pre-IVA or whilst in an IVA, not sure I'd understand it, so doubt I'll know where to start but if you can do it yourself I wouldn't pay anyone just get the right advice from my forum buddies at the time. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
Only looked at the free annual credit report, and data there is factually incorrect with Abbey defaulting me after my IVA agreement date so that's one I will definately be looking to fix. HSBC defaulted me a few days after the IVA agreement date, but I may leave that one alone as it's recorded at the end of the first month.
No idea what is on equifax or experian report as I've not looked at them, but I will find out later next year, when I start clearing everything up that's not factually correct.

I look in on my Experian report monthly because I want to know about it if there is something wrong, and out of my four creditors two have defaulted me on the correct date pre-IVA, 1 was defaulted 7 months late and the other one 10 months late - and the latter one is still applying monthly charges, but I have been assured by DFD that it is nothing to worry about - so I am trying not to !!
DFD have given you good advice, the debt is included within the IVA, they cannot add interest now and the original default date will have to be either back dated to the IVA agreement date or removed from your file.
Nothing to worry about now, something to look into once your IVA is completed.

I've only done the free one since starting the IVA. Lombard Direct have been defaulting me every month but I can wait to get that sorted.

They can do that Jan, cause they are reporting on the state of the account every month, i.e. it is still in default.
So long as the original default date is before or on the date of your IVA, it will be fine. Key thing is the original default date needs to be correct.

I know, that's why I'm not bothered until I've finished. The original default date for all of them was pre acceptance.
Must admit I've not checked my record for a while. I imagine it's a very fetching shade of red![:D]

I would strongly advise that you allow the credit agencies to chase up your creditors on your behalf to have your defaults settled, as some of you may know I had the same problem, but once they are on the case the defaults should be settled very quick, I wouldn't chase them yourself as for me it was a waste of time and money on phone calls, letters etc. Hope this helps.
We have had posters on here who have been told that the CRAs won't do it. I would prefer to do it myself.

The CRA would have to write to the creditor to check with them that it is ok to amend/remove a default.
Don't waste time with phone calls, or writing to customer services. They probably don't have a clue as to their obligations under the DPA.
Write to the Data Controller for each creditor by recorded delivery allowing 28 days. Keep accurate records and copies of correspondence, you'll need this if the creditor does not play ball and you have to write to the Information Commissioner.
The address for the data controller can be found on the Information Commissioners website, just search for the relevent creditor.
