One of my clients has recently launched a successful action against the FSA for unfair prejudice with regard to work opportunities as a result of an IVA. He won his case and I am happy to share the details with anyone if they want to contact me directly.
Ask your IP to vary the IVA to allow for a 12 month payment break - you and they have nothing to lose and everything to gain if you find work in the meantime.
Sorry to hear you are going through this, get in touch with your IP ask for 12 months payment break and get in touch with Mel who will advise you on the previous court case and whether you have a good chance also with your current situation.
I think its disgusting to stop people getting a job because of an IVA knowing quite well that without work the persons situation is going to deteriorate further as a result of their prejudice.
