I entered into a 5 year IVA in September 2005 and I ended it early by paying off a lump sum this August. What do I need to do now to build up my credit rating in order to get a competitive mortgage? I've had no written confirmation from my IVA company to say I have now completed my IVA Is this correct?

Hi,

You should receive a completion certificate from your IP, this you can then copy and send to the CRA's so they can mark it as satisfied.

The IVA will remain on your file for 6 years from the date of acceptance, but you can check to see if any defaults have been registered since that date. If so, you need to write to those creditors and tell them to remove the defaults.
