Hi I have a IVA case in progress with Debt Advisory Line. Do you have any sugestions about this company? How do they work? How long it takes?

Hi,

I don't actually know anything about the company and so cannot say how long they take to sort out an IVA.

In the meantime, it cannot hurt to seek a second opinion, possibly from the experts who post on here.

Visit www.iva.com for a list of companies and reviews and give one or two a ring. The advice is free and impartial and they will tell you of all the options open to you.

As Jan says it is always worth a second opinion if you are unsure. Most IP firms will give free advice and operate a policy whereby they only get paid when your IVA is approved. There are no up front fees and any fees are drawn from your ongoing IVA payments.

Debt Advisory Line do not seem to be listed on IVA.COM as being an Insolvency firm, which leads me to supect that they pass IVA work out to an IP firm, i.e. they are a packager. A packager will typically take 2 or more payments from you to assess the viability of your case before it is passed over, thereby meaning that your IVA may consist of 62 payments rather than 60. If you approach an IP firm direct then there will be no need for this to happen, so a visit to www.iva.com to find a list, read reviews etc may be a good place to start.

Regards.

I've just looked at the website and it doesn't mention anything about upfront payments, however it is somewhat out of date as they mention the SIVA's which never came to fruition, and also mentions that you need to have four creditors, which also isn't correct.

They also mention that they were Debt Management Provider of the Year for 2008!
