They say institutions should be built around people and serving the people and make a handsome profit in the process.Granted! As Norwich Union have rebranded themselves on this very theme.....

As for the Banks they are making people serve them and becoming a cash cow for their {banks} crazy empire building escapades. That's the charge on the Banks. Its not a helping hand they are offering people, its an underhand.As bad as drug dealers

When they are in the sh_t they access your taxes to bail themselves out(not barclays I admit ), then the government say sorry guys, tax increases, cuts in public service etc till the next 20 years?? That is to me tantamount to screwing other people up to help yourself...Banks are major tax evaders.....but everyone is expected to pay theirs and more ? Nuff said Skippy. The UK Banks are the worse! Most Indebted and bonkers

The IVA isn't the Banks absolution handed to debtors.If the banks have it their way, then people will be paying till they are dead! Don't confuse an Iva with Banks writing off debt voluntarily.(They don't!}

Thats right newdeal.Banks hate people but want their cash and show total contempt to anyone who thinks differently - claiming bank charges or to argue about high interest rate on credit cards.They put out stupid ads that shows your IQ to be like a kid. They aren't your friends if you need an IVA to protect yourself from them.

Banks no doubt will never admit to irresponsible lending as it will open millions of claims against them in the mold of bank charges, PPI mis-selling and unenforceable contracts.

Hopwever debtor's do have to take responsibility in taking on loans and extra credit on the myth that their properties (for example) will always rise in value.

This happened in 1973 and 1989 and this current economic problem is much worse.

No bank likes writing off debt but they do within IVA's and sometimes within DMP's (not always though.

Attitudes are changing and banks are beginning to show some humbleness and awareness to debto's problems.

The DRF will be leading the fight against them if their tactics don't mellow.

Exactly David!

We borrowed the money and, rightly or wrongly, the banks gave it to us.

We have a duty to pay it back, or in the case of those us in an IVA, what we can afford to pay back.

Please can you explain where in my posts I have given this opinion?

All I did was click on the link which about banks challenging the decision about ppi. I then commented on Gordon Brown funding these challenges.

This thread seems to be going round in circles with accusations, bad language and snide comments so I've locked it.
