Good Evening
I have an Iva and a girlfriend [:)]...We have been thinking about renting a place together (this would mean i would have to let out my property) ..i earn more than her even after my IVA deductions and the rent I would need to pay would be covered by the rental i receive from my flat on the whole i will be no better off financially...How would the IVA firm look at this if we were to go ahead and move in together ? I.E would her income form part of my IVA review ? Would it be expected that she was paying half of the bills ? Many thanks ...Kind Regards

Your IP would expect your girlfriend to be paying her share of the expenses, and would want to see this happen (of course if she is not earning as much as you, the split would be up to you)and this may possibly free up a bit more of your money towards the IVA.

You will have to run it by your IP and see what they say.

Gemerally partners living together would share their joint expenditure in a similar ratio to their earnings - so as long as this does not affect your ability to maintain your contributions, and you are prepared to pay a little more if it is demonstrated that you could afford to, I cannot see there being any real problem with this.
