Hi, wonder if any one can help. My IVA is due to finish in Feb 2016, we are desperate to move house, does anyone know if going with a broker (from this forum) if the % is really high still within an IVA? Or am i best waiting till next year? if so, how long do I have to wait before I can get another mortgage? Thanks

Hi,

Contact either Shaun or Ryan (details on the left) and they will give you some advice.

It would be difficult to obtain any mortgage until six years after the IVA started. If your IVA has already been extended due to equity then the six years should expire around that time so speak to the experts and see what they say. At least you could start to have an informal look around to see what is about knowing it is an option in the New Year.

Kevwillo, if you have a totally clean credit file, there is no reason yo cannot try a mainstream leader straight away. With a clean CF, your salary and deposit will have more bearing on the outcome.

Whilst you are still in the IVA it is likely to be difficult and more expensive. I'd suggest you are certainly better waiting until the IVA is completed before you consider anything but of course it will also depend on the amount of deposit you have available, your income etc.
