Hi there, I'm currently in an IVA and my car insurance is up for renewal.I pay monthly a bs want to change to someone else.
My question is, am I still able to spy for monthly payment car insurance as I'm in an IVA? Or will this be deemed a breach of the IVA contract? As an FYI I just tried applying for a new policy with someone else and they rejected me because of bad credit.
Look forward to your response.
Kind regards
Kerry

It won't be a breach.

People seem to hit problems now and again with the credit search aspect but there was another discussion on the board recently where people have been able to change.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

I think most people manage to pay monthly.

There should be no problem from the IVA point of view. Some insurers use outside credit providers to fund monthly payers and it will be down to the individual companies. If you use a comparison website it will automatically filter you out from many insurers who will insure you if approached directly.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I swapped most years when in an IVA and paid monthly. Some may reject but luckily I never came across that. All the best and be good if you could tell us who you went with in the end as it may help other posters if they're looking to swap.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Paying monthly instalments will be ok with your IP, it may be more difficult in getting a company to allow this. We were originally with Swinton, changed to Insure the Box for a few years and have this year gone back to Swinton. I think it was LV that wouldn't give us monthly payments, there were also a few others but I can't remember which they were?
getting there ....

Got there!!
IVA started 27/10/2010
final payment 27/10/2015
CC received 6/5/16
Off the register 5/8/16

NFU have a bad reputation.

My insurance quote with Swinton was so low I was able to bite the bullet and pay it in advance.
