The proposal says 6 months for admin (length of agreement 66 months). There are provisions for extension on two occasions, if they give prior notice.

If it gets as far as a complaint to the IS mention that other firms take from 2 to 12 weeks on average.

We have finished our payments in feb. I called gt on Friday for an update and have been informed that it will take 10 months from now for the completion certificate. I found the advisor quite rude and not sympathetic that we have been waiting. Basically told that we will have to wait until they have completed their processes.

It seems like GT are untouchable now they are quoting estimated completion times. How do you complain against an estimated time scale and at what point should you raise a complaint?

You can raise a complaint when the term goes beyond that agreed in the arrangement or if they extend without due notice.

Are we within our rights to complain come September then? They have sent us a copy of our annual report but haven't actually completed the review. The advisor was due to call me back but as yet I've heard nothing. If I was to do it all again gt would not be the company Id pick!

I thought my situation with GT was bad, but just read a post where the person is now in month 96 and still no closer to completion with GT. I will not be letting GT get away with this much longer.
That's the feeling I had on when I received the letters from GT on Sat. I didn't choose them - they took over MD&C. Based on the stories I see here, I wouldn't touch them if I was considering going into an I.V.A
*IVA started Sept 2010
*Last Payment Taken August 2015
*Completion Certificate Issued November 2015

I am also with gt I also had no communication for over a year from gt I had to contact gt and because I emailed them they said I had to wait 6 months and then because I have complained to them they then said 3 months I then decided to contact the ipa and within a month of complaining to them I recieved my cc I had to fight to get my cc.
Last payment made August 2012 Certificate of Completion recieved 15th of Novenber 2013.

It really is shocking and unfair. I paid my last payment on 22nd May this year. On 2nd June I was informed my final review was completed and no further payments were required. They are estimating I will receive my CC in 3-4 weeks. With cleardebt.

Will see if they meet this timescale.

If I was with GT, I would actually actually turn up at their premises and insist on seeing someone. If one company can close in 3-4 weeks there is no reason another company should take over a year.

I find it very unfair when it comes to completion and I do feel that the certificate should be issued within a set period of time agreed by the regulators.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

They really do not care. To be honest if id known what i do know now after over 5 years with them i would never of gone down this route.

This is the most recent email i received from
QUOTE
""The six months begins when your case is added to closure, not from your final payment. Your case was added to closure on the 7th of January 2015. We are still 31 days inside the six months".....

Like i said they do not care one bit about messing with people's lifes.

I agree totally with your geoffr.

You're nearly there now so hang in there and hopefully you'll have that certificate very soon.

Oh it gets worse. I have been told by GT that my case went to the closure team in December 2014. They then said there was an issue which meant it came out of closure and only went back in to closure at the end of April this year. So the 6 month estimated time scale has been re-set so it could be the end of this year before I even have a hope of getting a CC.

Read your proposal / chairmans report .... look under length of arrangement. Have they exceeded the agreed terms ? Have they served notice as required ?

If not you have grounds for a complaint --- their internal complaints procedure is difficult to find as well as being unfairly protracted --- reasons for a complaint in their own rights.

I will provide a draft letter over the weekend - whether anyone has the courage to use it is a different matter.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.
