Hi Welshwiz - that is a classic, should have been but wasn't. This forum is great for finding out all kinds of information, i only wish i had found it pre IVA but hopefully there are many people finding the information on here very valuable.
IVA started Jan 2012
Last payment made June 2014 @100p
Completion certificate received Sept 2014

Lesley, where does Halifax ask if you've ever made an arrangement with your creditors? I had an account with them last year and don't remember being asked the question and I've had a look and can't see it. Hopefully they've removed it!

To be honest I wasn't expecting to get an account with Natwest as they were a creditor but I think it's very bad that everyone is ruled out if they have had difficulties.

It was very recent, I got through the credit check and all and right at the very last screen where you electronically sign there is a tick box to confirm yes or no as to whether you've been in an arrangement with your creditors.

I withdrew my application at this point.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Ooops I didn't notice that! I haven't got the account now as the customer service was so poor so I suppose no harm done!

Can you apply online for Natwest? Don't want to get to the end and have to tick a box and exit at the last second!

I opened a Select Bank Account with cheque book and cash back rewards prior to me going in Iva, about a month after my iva was approved. I got an email & letter saying I'd been down graded to there basic account
