Can I ask if anyone has leased a car - which company did they use?
I have one payment left - this month but GT are still reluctant to allow me to enter into any car financing whilst still bound by the terms of my IVA.
I did try Money barn to purchase a car but GT rejected as interest too high...
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated [:D]

Hi and welcome

I would try Moneybarn again once you have made your final payment to GT

It is unlikely that you will get any where near to High St Bank rates with an IVA on your credit file

Good Luck

We used Dunctons, now Moneybarn, and it is expensive but in my situation the options were limited!

definitely give them a call once you have made your final payment.

GT said I am bound by the terms of my IVA until I receive my completion certificate...is this right?

I agree with Andy ...once the final payment has been made. In the meantime i would be ensuring GT know the reasons for a new vehicle and the implications of not having one. I would ensure the decision is coming from a IP direct and not the caseworker.

So can I insist I speak to my IP?
I have not spoken to him in the time I have had my IVA - it's always been a case worker and I got quite a telling off when I tried to explain my case for a car in my last call.
I travel a lot for work...my car is nearly 9 years old and just not fit for the job....
I am with Grant Thornton....

You will find it difficult to speak to the IP at GT given the size of the caseload but you can insist. However a caseworker should be able to approve the credit once your last payment has been made. It cannot affect your IVA so ask to speak to someone more senior if you cannot get the IP.
