You can withdraw your proposal and have a new one submitted by a different IP such as Melanie if you wish. Do not give up.

There is nothing to stop you withdrawing the present IVA, and asking me to represent a new one for you. Why not wait and see what your chosen firm can do for you in the meantime.

Remember you have to work with your IP firm for five long years, so it is really important to make the right decision and choice about the firm in the first place.

Sorry to read of your difficulties yesterday ... Hopefully DFD can get this sorted but as others have said don't overstretch yourself right at the beginning ..... Its hard I know but have faith ..fingers crossed it will be sorted early next week.

I would withdraw from the present iva and consult with some other IPs. An iva is a hard thing to do and you definitely want to be comfortable with your company from the outset. My experience was that at the beginning they were very helpful and seem to care about your circumstances but this wears off after a couple of years. Also at the end there are suddenly things like arrears, (that we didn't owe) the equity clause and PPI which all cause hassle and with large companies it seems impossible to speak to your IP to clarify things. Also, in larger companies your case worker seems to change at the drop of a hat and there is little continuity or hope of building a working relationship. Having said all that completing the iva was the best thing we ever did. Good luck and I hope it all works out for you.
Life after IVA is wonderful.

Thanks everybody for your replies . I will see what happens on Monday but as I feel now I will withdraw my iva and speak to Melanie to seeing she will represent me. In only wish I knew of her beforehand as she seems so switched on and lovely.

A lot of us have thought that, at least you've found her at this stage. We relied on her advice posted on this forum, which unfortunately we didn't find until year 3. Keep on reading and posting 'cos the forum will get you through the bad times.

Nice result and a bit of common sense has prevailed.
