Hi everyone.I started an IVA in August 2008 with DFD.Following illness I was offered redundancy and by arrangement I used some of this to make a final payment in March 2013.Since then I have enquired when I might expect to receive my completion certicate.I have not had a definative answer but many excuses re PPI.I have signed all future PPI monies to DFD.I must have filled in over 50 claim forms but everytime there is a change in how these are dealt with I get another set of forms.I just wondered if anyone else has waited so long for certificate. All I want to do is move on but DFD are preventing that. Also could anyone tell me when the IVA will be removed from my credit history as I have plans over the next 5 years that may need me to borrow money for housing relocation.

Hi My IVA started in Feb 2008 and made my last payment in Feb 2013 and we are now in June 2014 and still no sign of a completion Certificate. I am with Grant Thornton and got a chairman's statement in January this year showing i had made all my payments, there were no arrears, no further extensions or variations were required and that the account was pending closure. It did state that issues with PPI claims and VAT issues with HMRC were preventing closure and were industry wide but gave no indication as to how long these would take to resolve so i am in limbo. Unable to move on with what should be a debt free life.

Hi Rockman,

I can't give you the definative answer on when you will get you Certificate, the timescales do seem to vary with each company. Keep chasing them though!

I just wanted to post this link for you as it may be on use to you with sorting out your credit file post IVA. Your IVA will remain on your credit report for 6 years from the date you entered in the IVA agreement. http://pjgrecovery.com/clean-up-credit-rating.asp.

I do think that sometimes it's he who shouts loudest so don't let it go keep badgering them. My opinion remains it's not right and there are peoples lives on hold. I finished my own IVA in Jan 2013, by April 2013 I had my certificate so why are other companies not able to follow suit!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Did a F&F in September last year and have be on the phone regularly but we still don't have our completion cert. Told it was due to PIP but I reminded them that I had signed a variation before we did the F&F. Now apparently it has been flagged up as priority but apparently we are due our yearly statement so shall we wait for that. I don't know why we need a yearly review when we made our F&F last September. Keep ringing them but all I get is that they are very busy. If that is the case why don't they employ more staff? Really at the end of my tether with them as we are trying to start a new business and cant move forward until we have the certificate.

In my own firm we would do anything we can to avoid cases not concluding on time, and I can genuinely say that these issues have affected a handful of my own cases.

Thanks for the comments/replies.I sometimes think that the aforsaid company cease to take notice once they have signed you up.I will continue to chip away at them - but why should I have to 15 months on from them agreeing to payment and taking my money.Don't get me wrong I really appreciate the help I have been given however there must be an easier way to deal with the company.I must admit it has been a long journey and I am just wanting it to end asap - I have a life to lead outside the IVA and I would like to concentrate on that.
